罗浮山，又名东樵山，自古以来就被称为是五岳之后的“粤岳”。历史上有“峨眉天下秀，青城天下幽，罗浮天下奇”之说。在俚语里，“罗浮”的意思是“很多石头和水”，因此从古至今，罗浮山都被认为是一块风水宝地。
从山下往上望，一座座巨大的山峰矗立在面前，漂浮在云里雾里的最高峰让人望而生畏。青碧色的山峰连绵起伏，一眼望去一片翠绿。进入山门，清澈见底的白莲湖在欢迎游客，并引领着游客前往上山索道。
坐上了索道，山中美景渐次跃入眼帘。首先是绿树，有些张牙舞爪，有些碧绿苍翠，有些果实累累……万木成林，十分壮观。接着是石头，它们被大自然的鬼斧神工打造得多姿多样，有的光滑，像被抛光过一般;有的凹凸不平，棱角分明;还有的形态多样，像狮子，像兔子，像山羊……最后是“未见其形，先闻其声”的流泉，掩映在山林中，穿行在岩石间。潺潺的流水声，和着鸟儿清脆的叫声，奏出了山林里独特的交响乐。
自索道上站再往上，就来到最理想的观景地——鹰嘴岩。远处的显岗水库像一条银河蜿蜒在山谷里，山脚的圆形客家围屋和高尔夫球场以及近处各山峰的景色也尽收眼底。山林翠绿，泉水清澈，怪石嶙峋，大有“会当凌绝顶，一览众山小”的意境。
